The next generation of the Ford Fiesta ST was presented to us officially in February 2017. Powered with all-new 3-cylinder EcoBoost turbo engine that is able to deliver 197 HP (200 PS) and 214 lb-ft (290 Nm) of torque. With 6-speed manual transmission it will be able to sprint from 0-60 mph in 6.5 seconds. This powerplant comes with new cylinder deactivation technology that deactivates on cylinder in situations that full power is not needed. This will improve fuel efficiency of the new Fiesta ST.
For better handling and performance features, the new Ford Fiesta ST 2018 comes equipped with selectable three Drive Modes: Normal, Sport and Track. With different modes car changes traction control, engine mapping, stability control, power steering, interior sound and exhaust sound.
On the US car market the new Fiesta ST will be available only as the four door model. In Europe buyers are able to choose between two-door and four-door models. More personalization will be available with the next generation of the ST and this will include the gear lever, dashboard spear, door pulls and steering wheel. Interior features Recaro seats, Sync 3 infotainment system with optionally B&O Play sound system. Liquid blue paint that we saw on the Ford GT will also be available with new ST but only as an option.
The car will run on 18-inch alloy wheels, it features unique mash grille and roof-mounted spoiler. As Ford officials said the 2018 Ford Fiesta ST will be available to buy in first months on 2018 and its price will be revealed to us closely to its release date. Main rivals on the EU soil will be Renault Clio RS, Volkswagen Polo GTI and Opel Corsa OPC.
