2018 Ford Expedition mpg specs is improved
According to the Ford officials, the new Ford Expedition 2018 will be the most powerful Expedition ever. That means that 3.6-liter turbocharged EcoBoost engine, which will be under the hood of this full-size SUV, will produce more than 365 horsepower, which is output of the current model. Company has not announced number of the successor’s power. This turbo engine will come paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission which is a good step forward compared to the current 6-speed gearbox. With lower bodyweight, fuel consumption gets better which is good since current models have fuel economy rated around 14 mpg. This is very poor experience, even for this thirsty car class.
Fuel economy of this engine will be improved with a fact that it will come equipped with Auto Start-Stop system. For better off-road capability, it will be equipped with all-new electronic limited-slip differential with intelligent 4-wheel-drive system. Since Expedition owners uses their SUV’s for towing, it will be available with Pro Trailer Backup Assist function. Terrain Management System, which will be standard for all models, offers drivers possibility to optimize powertrain performance and handling to conditions on the road. For that purpose, there are four drive modes available: Normal (for all day driving), Sport (for more aggressive rides), tow / haul (for towing or hauling purposes), Eco (for improved fuel economy), Grass / Gravel / Snow (for slack terrain), Sand (for situations with low traction) and Mud / Rut (for rugged terrain).
