The Ford Super Duty had its debut 18 years ago when it was sharing its cab with the F-150. With its weight and capability, it created a new class on the truck market. It covered all heavy-duty market with 44 configurations and F550s 19,000 pounds of GVWR weight. Its ultimate position in heavy-duty class is confirmed by almost 65% of new car sales during the last year. The 2017 Ford Super Duty now receives a completely redesign which is one of the most important changes since it was presented to public. It will be available as F-250, F-350 and F-450 model and depending on chosen trim level there are available Regular Cab, Crew Cab and Super Cab.
2017 Ford Super Duty redesign
The 2017 Ford Super Duty will be built on the aluminum body mainly based on the Ford F-150 while all other exterior details such as hood, lights, bumpers, front clip and beds will be unique and recognizable as Super Duty. For higher payloads some parts of the body get a ticker aluminum which makes it stronger and more dent resistant. According to announced data, overall weight loss using aluminum will be around 350 pounds, which is big difference comparing to F150s 700 pounds of reduction. Ford officials justify this difference with improving hauling and towing capacity by redistributing weight to other areas of the truck.
There are now quad beam headlights on the front fascia surrounded with C-shape daytime running lights. Models with Super Cab body configuration how gets 170 degree doors for better access. Base models of the F250 and F350 comes with a single cab body and an 8.0-foot bed. There are five trim levels available: XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch and Platinum, just like before.
There are 6 inches more of the space inside the cabin with the new Ford Super Duty 2017 thanks to body of the F150. Just like its smaller brother it gets flat floor at the rear and the dashboard with an 8-inch touchscreen. Depending on chosen package there are plenty equipment available such as keyless entry, automatic high-beam headlights, adaptive steering, leather wrapped steering wheel, power sliding rear window with defroster, a rearview camera, cruise control, lane-departure warning, cooled and heated front seats, etc.

There are three engines available for the new Ford Super Duty 2017. The smallest engine is 6.2-liter V8 petrol with 385 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque. There is also a 6.7-liter Power Stroke Diesel with 440 horsepower and 860 lb-ft of torque. Both of the engines come mated to the new 6-speed automatic TorqShift-G transmission with SelecShift. Third engine is gasoline 6.8-liter V10 with 362 horsepower and 457 lb-ft of torque and it is paired to the TorqShift 5-speed automatic with SelectShift.[table "” not found /]
